Study Of Chinese Citizens’ Political Participation

Democracy is the core of the rule of law. Legalization of citizens’ politicalparticipation is the need of the construction of China’s socialist democratic politicsin maintaining social stability and optimizing the democracy. Therefore,legalization of citizens’ political participation is inevitable in the process ofbuilding socialist political civilization in China.At present, citizens’ political participation in China is in an orderly stateoverall, but there are still some problems that can not be ignored, includinglimitations of the election system’s democracy, obstacles of citizens’ participationin decision-making and management and short of democratic supervision. To solvethe above problems we need to find the reasons for restricting our citizens’ orderlypolitical participation and there are economic factors, political factors, legaldeletions and cultural conflicts. Based on the above analysis the paper explores thehistory and characteristics of the Western mode of political participation andanalyzes the main content of Chinese citizens’ political participation. We make aconclusion that building orderly citizens’ political participation system in ourcountry should draw on the basis of Western experience. It is required to providethe law in the four aspects of election system, decision-making system,management system and supervision system. Meanwhile, with the development ofadvanced science and technology, we should explore the new method of citizens’political participation that is participating in public opinion.
