The U.S.-Japan Alliance, as an important strategic choice from both countries according to national interest demands, is one of the significant bilateral ties among international relations. As a result of the Cold War, the U.S.-Japan Alliance didn’t fade away with the end of the Cold War. Instead, it was gradually adjusted, developed and strengthened over the subsequent twenty years. And it presented characteristics like changing from "non-reciprocity" to "reciprocity", stronger political overtones, and gradually extending the scope of cooperation. The strengthening of the U.S.-Japan Alliance increased the uncertainty of the triangular relationship of China, US and Japan and brought some pressure on Chinese security. This paper traces back the history and is based on the reality. It combs the revolution track of the U.S.-Japan Alliance in great detail, sums up the traits of changes of the U.S.-Japan Alliance, reveals the strategic considerations of both countries, thus systematically analyzes its impact on Chinese security and puts forward corresponding strategic countermeasure.
