Premier Wen Jiabao stressed.at the Fifth National Conference of Women and Children on November27,2011,that Children should be the first to enjoy all social well-beings,and the last to suffer all disasters.Street children, the most vulnerable groups, should obtain the national and social attention and protection. As family function increasingly change, and population mobility is expanding, the number of street children in China has been stubbornly high..The solution to the problem of street children in our country has reached a critical state.Proposed by Professor Yujianrong, a movement called "guard against child trafficking with your microblogging "appeals to society to spread to the Internet the photos of street children. Thus under the leadership of professor Zhang Mingsuo of Zheng Zhou University, the author carried out a survey on the104street children of the Relief Center in Guangzhou. The investigation lasted about two months. They made a deep analysis on the cheating, lying and concealing on the part of the children. We found that the experience of the children made them trust no one. They were looked down upon by others and got no respect. They were even taken advantage by the criminals. After these twists and turns, they got to the Relief Center. However, the rigid manner employed by the workers there made them trust no one. The aim of helping them find their parents even made matters worse. Lying and cheating recurred. Lack of communication and trust are the main causes. The fact that some children distrust their helpers hampered severely the effect of rescue work. The author thinks that the occurrence of this phenomenon is mainly due to the lack of communication and trust between street children and rescue personnel. Thus, successful communication with street children and mutual trust are the premise and key to their assistance. Therefore, how to communicate effectively with children and to establish a relationship of trust is the main issue of this thesis. The successful way of communication is the core of this thesis,"empathy" has become the spirit in helping those street children. And it seems empirically effective. Empathy means to be considerate and vicarious. It can bolster the communication between the street children and the relief workers and make the workers trustworthy. And the relief effect can also be improved.
