The Current Government Credibility Research Of Food Safety In Our Country

As the first need of the people, sense of security is the quality of life scale, which is the most basic and most important element of personality. Food safety is extremely heavy, for which is the basis of human survival and development, is the most fundamental interests of the people where it relates to people’s physical health, life safety and social harmony and stability. The relationship between food safety governance and the credibility of the government reflects that the food safety incidents constraint enhance credibility of the government, however, the credibility of the government directly reflect the government’s food security crisis in the governance. Government only in the governance of food safety, improve governance capacity to curb the increasing spread of food security crisis, maintain food security, and effectively protect public health, all of which target to win public trust and enhance the legitimacy of the government.This paper attempts the issue on the declining of credibility of the government in food security, to identify its problems and produce a deep-seated reason for these problems. The paper also includes the analysis how to improve China’s government credibility in food safety by absorbing western countries advanced experience.This paper is broadly divided into four parts:Firstly, it elaborately give an overview of global food security crisis, including the successful experience of developed countries and the global food security crisis, in order to summarize the experience of western developed countries and provide an reference for the development of China’s food safety regulatory system. Secondly, it gives the performance of the status-quo on China’s food safety crisis and the government credibility lacking, the main analysis is given as follows:the source of concurrent, high-frequency burst, large-scale outbreak caused by "man-made malicious" into the non-traditional food safety issues. Thirdly, it gives the analysis of the main seasons on the lack of credibility of the government in food safety from the government level, social level and legal level. As the final chapter, it mainly gives the analysis on the countermeasures how to improve the credibility of the government in food safety in terms of government capacity, social mechanisms and legal regulations corresponding countermeasures.
