Contemporary Migrant Workers’ Political Participation

During the process of reforming and opening, industrialization and civilization urbanization, migrant workers is a new-born kind of workforce, which was born since when the year of1978, the Third Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party was held. With the number of migrant workers increasingly going up, some serious social problems create. One of them is the issue about migrant workers’political participation. According to the survey on political participation of migrant workers in Taiyuan, this thesis states the present situation, details, causes and practical solutions of migrant workers’political participation. The questionnaire survey is the main study method in this paper, combined with literature analysis method.This thesis can be divided into four parts:In the first part of the thesis, research background, research significance and related conceptions are mentioned.In the second part of the thesis, the author mainly talks about the survey on migrant workers’political participation and its characteristics, showing the figures in the form of data. By doing so, some details can be seen clearly, for example, non-institutionalization of migrant workers’ political participation. Furthermore, the author analysis the related issues about migrant workers’political participation.In the third part of the thesis, the main research object is about political participation of migrant workers and the measures. Specifically, improving the living standard of migrant workers is the basic of their political participation. Besides, strengthening cultural education, improving qualities of migrant workers can be useful to make political participation of migrant workers more reasonable.In the last part of the thesis, it is mentioned that there are two dimensions about political participation of migrant workers, that is, the qualitative dimension and quantitative dimension. What’s more, the factors of time and degree should also be paid much attention to.
