Since the reform and opening-up, especially after the promulgation and implementation of the "Law of the Peoples of Republic of China", the employment of the disabled has been improved in China. However, we should notice as well that the disabled is the typical disadvantaged group in society and they meet special difficulties and obstacles in employment which are different from the ordinary people.Such as the objective exclusion of the disabled, the lack of initiation to help the disabled of the employing unit, the jobs which are suited for the disabled are limited by their disability’s degree, the disabled can only work at a few industries because of their low cultural level and single skills, the disabled has demands of the barrier free environment and the safety production surroundings, the disabled in a disadvantaged situation in the labor market for the fiercely contradiction between supply and demand in our nation."The employment is the best protection". For the disabled, the employment is not only the means of making money, but also the way of gaining the right as the normal people and realizing the value of life.The employment can resolve their direct problems and realize the equal rights of all the people and show the level of civilization. Therefore, it is significant for the disabled themselves and the nation to study the employment of the disabled. We should know the demands of the employing unit first, which are the accordance for modifying the policies of China, the working ways of the China Disabled Persons’Federation and the disabled themselves, if we want to understand the situation of the employment of the disabled. Thus the supply and demand can reach balance and the degree of satisfaction will rise. The paper chooses the employing unit as the study’s object. It combines the qualitative and the quantitative research. I design the questionnaire named "the propensity of the employing unit to the disabled" and do the investigation of all the employing units in Beidaihe. The questionnaire refers to three aspects:the attitude to the disabled, the qualification of employment and the sources that the employing units provide.For mastering the problems of the employment of the disabled, I have made interviews of the personal managers as well as20disabled persons who have the capability to work to know their questions and confuses about the employment.Through the comprehensive comparison between the demands of the employing units and the requirements of the disabled, I find three problems:the employing units have discrimination against persons with disabilities; the qualifications of the disabled themselves limit their employment; Inadequate employment security system for the disabled. At the end, the thesis comes up with suggestions in four aspects:the society, the government, the employing units and the persons with disabilities.The paper has a lot of deficiencies. The study on the employment of the disabled should combine with the specific laws, the system, the execution of the rules and the effects of the execution. The study only chooses the employment units and the disabled as research subjects; therefore the paper is not comprehensive enough.
