In western country, it has long been researching on legitimacy, and it was alwaysa hot spot theory. However, due to China’s actual condition, it has not been aroundlong since we took concern on the research on legitimacy. Along with reformationopening continually deepening and the influence by globalization, the issuesregarding the Communist Party of China political legitimacy gradually exposedtogether with the development of society. Furthermore, the legitimacy crisis fromWorld politics pushed the Communist Party of China to take consideration andimportance of its political legitimacy. The research of political legitimacy not onlyplaces great importance in improving the reigning ability construction of theCommunist Party of China and optimizing the Chinese characteristic socialism theorysystem, but also has essential influence in consolidating the governing position of theCommunist Party of China, realizing the long-term stability of the country andconstructing harmonious socialist society.The paper concludes the factors for acquiring political legitimacy based on theanalysis of theory of legitimacy from home and abroad. Guided by the theory ofMarxist, the paper expounds the construction of political legitimacy in differentphases as well as summarizes the lessons and experience, and meanwhile, points outthe challenges and problems ahead. Based on the review of history and elaboration ofcurrent situation, the paper is also aimed to provide some hints and methods incontinuously improving political legitimacy and maintaining and consolidating itslegitimacy for the Communist Party of China under the new circumstance.
