In China, participating parties means political alliances in which a specific part of social laborers, constructors of socialistic cause and patriots who advocate socialism are united. These parties work together with the ruling party, CPC, to devote themselves to socialism with Chinese characteristics and play an active role in the political events and social development of the country. There is a long history of foreign affairs by participating parties in this country. It changes from basing on China’s United Front (1949-1980s) to participate national foreign affairs activities since1990s. With their own characteristics and advantages, their practices have sound effects while participating parties actively go abroad and invite foreign guests to make friends and exchange information.Participating parties have great amount of diplomatic energy. Following improvement and development of multi-party cooperation in China, we should attach more importance to and develop this valuable political resource for China’s public diplomacy. Relying on organizations of participating parties and given more supports, they will help the ruling party to promote public diplomacy to a higher level if we could also create conditions and allow them to carry out public diplomacy in the name of China’s legal participating parties.
