This paper mainly focuses on the Kuomintang’s education policy in Taiwan afterrecovery. Based on the development of society and economy in different periods, theKuomintang’s education policy has evolved through four stages respectively, namely,decolonization education policy, party-oriented education policy, localization educationpolicy and multiple education policy. This paper draws up from its historical background,basic content, key features and historical assessment to carry on the discussion in detail.The thesis is divided into four parts:The first part introduces the ecolonization education policy through strategic planning and thewill of the people; summarizes the basic contents and key features of the ecolonizationeducation policy; comments on and points out its defects.The second part expounds the historical basis of the party-oriented education policy;generalizes its contents—“anti-communist” and founding education organization; sums upthe characteristics of education policy—utilitarianism and tyranny; finally, Expounds itsnegative influence and the positive effectThe third part, from transformation of political localization, more opening economy andthe impact of the western education thoughts, describes the historical basis of localizationeducation policy; from strengthening the native course and setting up the localizationstructures, analyzes its basic content, Sums up the characteristics of alienation andfraudulence; gives comments on positive and negative aspects.The last part introduces the historical background of multiple education policy firstly;generalizes its basic content and characteristics—humanism and gocalisation; finally,evaluates its advantages and disadvantages.
