The Loy Henderson, from World War II to the early Cold War, not only is a diplomatwho active in the United States on the diplomatic stage, but also a Soviet expert. The U.S.domestic scholar William Gail assessed Loy Henderson was the U.S. State Department’sGeorge Kennan, its foreign idea for the formulation of U.S. foreign policy has a direct andprofound impact. This has the formation of the Loy Henderson diplomatic thinking,development, and evolution as the main line, focus on the reasons for the formation ofHenderson’s diplomatic thinking, diplomatic behavior and its impact on U.S. foreign policy.The body part of this paper is consisted of three chapters:The first chapter briefly discusses the Loy Henderson foreign ideas sprout. First, fromhis family background, educational experience, work experience and other aspects discussedtheir experiences growing up; Then, Henderson’s diplomatic work in the Soviet Unionexperienced discussed.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the Loy Henderson foreign thoughtformation. Discusses the Henderson trade negotiations with the Soviet Union as arepresentative of the United States, then he put forward the idea of the Soviet Union "limitedtrade; analyzed Henderson served as the Middle East and African Affairs, in charge ofhandling the relations of the Soviet Union and to participate in the" Truman Doctrinedevelopment; Finally, discusses the experience of Henderson served as ambassador in theMiddle East and India.The third chapter, as the Conclusion Chapter, summarized and evaluated LoyHenderson’s diplomatic thoughts. Discusses the factors formed by the Henderson’s diplomaticthinking, and were compared with George Kennan’s "containment" theory.
