Research On The Community Welfare Of Empty Nest Elderly In Old Cell

Since the Chinese government implemented the reform and opening up policy, the Chinese society has undergone dramatic social change. The acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, the disintegration of the traditional "community" and the ascent of "social man"; the shock of the traditional values people uphold fertility rate trending to be low; the shrinking of the size of the urban households, family structure gradually becomes miniaturization and core curriculum; the declination of the mortality rate, the extending of the average life expectancy, and the coming of the aging society, and at the same time, family function shows a weakening trend. In this context, the community becomes the focus of all parties. The elderly in empty-nest family has become the vulnerable groups within the elderly population, so what is the relationship between the government expectations of elderly Community welfare and the actual income of the elderly in empty-nest family in Y Community. By the interviews and investigations of the elderly in empty-nest family and related workers in Y community, this article will show the current status of Chinese community welfare objectively.The paper is divided into three parts:The first part, the author introduces the background information and the related research results. By the introducing of the background of the community welfare of the elderly, the author explains necessity and urgency of the study aiming at elderly community, and defines the concept of community welfare and community welfare for the elderly.The second introduces the expectations of Chinese government on the community welfare and the elderly community welfare. In this section the author analyses the function of community welfare under the expectations of Chinese government, namely, community service, community health and the environment, community policing, community democracy and Community Party. At the same time, the author represents Chinese government’s expectations on the functions of the elderly community welfare after30years’ development of the community service and community building.The third part is the empirical research of community welfare under the perspective of elderly in empty-nest family in Y community. This paper selects the elderly in empty-nest family as the research object. The author has observed these people for nearly one year, and has got rich and reliable empirical data. On the basis of these empirical data, the author analyses the research questions specifically. Combining with the Chinese government’s expectations on the function of community welfare, the author tries to further explore the height and limitations of community welfare under current context.
