Now, China’s education reform has entered a substantive stage of tackling tough problems. Curriculum reform , one of the core elements of the educational reforms,has become a long and arduous strategic target and task in schools of basic education. In any kind of organization, its structure, function and organization culture will change with its strategic objectives adjusted. In the management of schools, teaching helping students’ development is essential and core task. Meanwhile, the curriculum (general) is the unique and important carrier in helping a student’s development and carrying out all teaching tasks. Therefore, the key to organizational structure reform is to study the design of the organizational structure that the new curriculum reform demands.First of all, this article clearly defines the organizational structure, and describes their contents. Secondly, this article analyses the historical evolution of the organizational structure, running situation and existing problems in large urban primary schools, revealing a universal phenomenon that the traditional organizational structure blocks and has a bad effect on the school development and the process of new curriculum reform in the new era. Third, this article puts forward new requirements to organizational structure reform, based on the demand for teachers’ development of basic education in new curriculum, three-level courses, course structure and the quality management system. Then, this article introduces a series of school organizational structure reform attempts of herself in recent years, analyses success and failure, gain and loss, and finds out the existing problems of the reform and the direction of reforming in the future. Finally, the author gives some suggestions about the reform of school organizational structure in large urban schools in the context of new curriculum. The author also proposes a more idealistic organizational structure program. Meanwhile, some suggestions about relevant organization mechanism and organization culture construction are also made briefly.
