Today, following the information technology’s rapid development, information technologyhas brought great influence on the economy and life of our society. Information technologyhas not only accelerated the development of social productivity but also speed up humanbeing’s pace of entering the information society. It has become an indispensable tool forpeople to survive. Therefore, as a major agricultural country, starting information technologycourses in primary and middle school and prompting computer science education is verynecessary in improving citizens’ quality for our country. And the promotion and developmentof information technology education in rural area will have a direct relation to our country’seducational success. Based on the interest in information technology class in rural area,frequent contact with some teachers in Yangqu County and some knowledge of the currentdevelopment situation of rural information technology education, the paper did a thoroughand profound research and investigation on the information technology education in someprimary and middle schools in Quyang County. Moreover, the paper mainly focuses on thecurrent situation of information technology education in Chengdongwang Primary School,Guojiazhuang Primary School and Zhujiayu Primary School of Quyang County. At the sametime, the paper used a lot of research methods like questionnaires, interview and inspection.The paper intends to work out an effective approach for the development of informationtechnology education in rural area after made research and investigation on equipment, faculty,teaching contents and teaching principles of information technology education in rural areas.And the paper also tries to provide decision-making foundation and practical experience forthe development of information technology education in Quyang County.
