Since the new curriculum reform, the training of primary and middle schoolteachers has become the focus of educational circles.Teacher training is an effective wayfor teachers’ professional development.Teacher professional development is the need ofthe basic education curriculum reform.The quality and effect of teacher training,directly determines the improvement of teachers’ professional quality, and furtherdetermines the success of curriculum reform. In the long term, due to the lack ofeffective training evaluation system, the effectiveness of training could not beaccurately measured by organizers and administrators, which greatly reduce the effectof training, at the same time the limited resources can not be used in the most profitabletraining project, resulting in the development of training project and the waste oftraining resources.The Hongkong Tin Ka Ping foundation Chongqing English teachertraining programme started in chongqing in December,2008. In order to ensure theprogramme reach the expected benefits of training, it is necessary to study on theevaluation of Tin Ka Ping training programme.This thesis focuses on the evaluation of Tin Ka Ping programme trainingeffect.Firstly, through literature review about the training evaluation theory and trainingprogramme evaluation research at home and abroad, evaluation content, evaluationmethod and evaluation object are clarified. Then based on the four hierarchy evaluationmodel, the evaluation framework of Tin Ka Ping training programme is proposed.Secondly, the evaluation framework is applied to the Tin Ka Ping training evaluationpractice. In this investigation, backbone teachers in high school and primary school,trainers, project managers, school leaders and colleagues of the trainee wereinvestigated with the aid of questionnaire, interview and comparative analysis. After thedata analysis, the training effect and shortcomings are clarified. The study showed thatteachers’ professional knowledge and teaching skills, as well as beliefs ofself-development are enhanced, and cooperation training model of Hong Kong andChongqing is formed basically.
