The popularization of higher education brings new opportunities to the development of privateuniversities. At the same time, these universities also be made to face all types of competition athome and abroad, and the competition among universities ultimately depends on the competitionof further improvement of governance structure in vocational schools. Only the implementation ofscientific and rational management structure can they fully mobilize the enthusiasm of variousinterest groups, develop their potential ability and improve the school’s teaching quality andefficiency. Only in this way can vocational schools play the superiority. Thus, the research onstakeholder-based governance structure of higher vocational colleges has important theoretical andpractical significance.After reading plentiful domestic and foreign research literature related to this article, thispaper then combines investigation and analysis of the real governance structure in highervocational colleges in Ningbo in order to construct fundamental framework on the stakeholder-based governance structure of higher vocational colleges, putting forward some relevantrecommendations on further improvement of the governance structure in higher vocationalcolleges.Specifically, this paper first takes several higher vocational colleges in Ningbo as an example,through field study and the interview survey, collecting the related materials of governancestructure in higher vocational colleges, then makes the reader a better understanding of the basicmanagement of Ningbo’s higher vocational colleges. This paper sums up the current governancestructure problems in higher vocational colleges: the government’s guidance to be strengthened, thelost of industry enterprise’s participate in the management mechanism in higher vocationalcolleges, the teacher and students’ participation deficiencies and the imperfect of articles ofassociation of school construction.Secondly, under the stakeholder theory’s guidance, this article use the importance (high, low),influence(great, small), participation(deep, shallow)as three dimensions, the higher vocationalcollege’s stakeholders will be divided into important stakeholders, general stakeholders and edge stakeholders. Then make an analysis on the management influence in higher vocational collegebased on the classification of three stakeholder.Finally, this paper argues that the source of current problems of governance structure in highervocational institutions is the inadequate participation of various interest groups, especially invocational colleges with key stakeholders-industry, the level of participation is less than theaverage. In view of the industry enterprises to participate in the governance structure of highervocational colleges is a great indicator of the soundness of this understanding, this governancestructure for vocational schools to explore new: first, in the perspective of stakeholders, the schoolboard should include representatives of various interest groups, especially the key stakeholders tobe dominant; second, the stakeholders involved in all vocational schools should follow theprinciple of orderly participation in governance, effective checks and balances of theresponsibilities, rights and interests; third, stakeholders involved in management of vocationalcolleges will take some coordination with the conditions of security, including governmentfunctions and coordination, institutional role and coordination, and coordination of internalrelations.
