Homework is one indispensable part of the teaching processes in senior middleschool. It is the continuity and supplement of classroom teaching. English homework,as a test and feedback of teaching effects, serves to help students to digest, consolidateand put into practice the knowledge learned in class and it plays a key role inenhancing teaching quality and efficiency. It works as an efficient way to cultivatestudents’self-learning ability and improve overall language proficiency.The thesis aims at investigating the status quo of senior middle school Englishhomework from the perspective of Multiple Intelligence Theory. The study is carriedout among students of two classes in Grade 2 of Liao Cheng Senior Middle School,Shandong Province.By means of questionnaire and interview, the thesis presents thecharacteristics of senior middle school English homework and discusses whether thehomework can meet the requirement of Multiple Intelligence Theory. The result of thestudy shows that the current English homework in senior middle school needsimproving in terms of amount, difficulty degree, contents and types so as to achievethe aim of cultivating students in an all-round way as is required by the MultipeIntelligence Theory.
