Mate-choosing standard is the characteristics of partners that oneuses to choose. On one hand, the formation of mate-choosing standard isthe manifestation of individual s character and values; on the other hand,it is also influenced by social environment and social values. In realsociety, one’s mate-choosing standard is not constant, it can change withthe outside mate-choosing environment, and individuals also makecompromises. The mate-choosing compromise is the progress ofindividual s giving up the best and choosing the acceptable under thelimitation of social environment. The research study the individual smate-choosing standard compromise strategy. And to find out howmate-choosing standard compromise strategy influenced by environment.This research is consisted of three sections. In section one, theresearcher translated the Fletcher’s ideal standard scales, and did asurvey with the translated scales. The researcher evaluated theFletcher’s ideal standard and compared the mate-choosing standard indifferent ganders. In section two, through survey two and experiment one,the researcher studied the changes of college students in differentmate-choosing environment. In the survey two, the researcher selected theFletcher’s ideal characteristic words for experiment one. In theexperiment one, the researcher studied the college students’ importanceorders of mate-choosing standards in different compromise degrees. In thesection three, through survey two and experiment two, the researcherstudied the changes of college students’ mate-choosing standards in different mate-choosing compromise degrees. In the survey three, theresearcher collected the negative words of every characteristic words,which is refer to the negative effects of characteristics. In theexperiment two, the researchers studied the college students’ importanceorders of mate-choosing standards in different compromise degrees, aftershowing the negative words to students.The results are the follows:(1)in the three factors of mate-choosing standards, warmth-loyalty as themost important factor, and Then vitality-attractiveness is second for men,status-resources is second for women.(2)the college students’ mate-choosing stands changed in differentcompromise degrees. In high compromise and low compromise degrees, theimportance of warmth-loyalty both decreased. Individual thought the othertwo dimensions (vitality-attractiveness and status-resources) moreimportant.(3)there is gender differences was found in different compromise degrees.Man prefers vitality-attractiveness and woman prefers status-resources.(4),the college students’ mate-choosing stands also changed, after showedby the negative words, which could be conclude as follows: both man andwoman take warmth-loyalty as a more important role. the importance ofstatus-resources grows for man. the importance ofvitality-attractiveness grows for woman. in high compromise degree,man shows more radical strategy, while woman shows more conservativestrategy.
