With the process of urbanization in Guiyang, the market has created anenormous demand for labor. Increasing numbers of the surplus rural labor hasrushed into the city and gradually became one of the social groups that cannotbe ignored. Accompanying their parents, the children of the migrant workers arenot only at the bottom of the society but also suffering social discrimination as aspecial group in the society. Their migration has brought series of socialproblems, especially the education problem on the children of migrant workers.The Guiyang municipal government has formulated a series of policiesthrough various channels in solves the education problem of the children of themigrant workers. In recent years, the Guiyang Municipal Government hasfounded a number of public schools and enlarged the enrollment proportion ofthe migrant workers. For the poor condition of the private schools as well as thelack of the education fees, the Guiyang municipal government has speciallyembarked parts of the capital as education funds in order to subsidize theschooling of the children of migrant workers in private schools. Moreover, theyhave free the children of the migrant workers that are difficult in economy fromthe textbooks、 tuition fees and so on. Although the Guiyang municipalgovernment spares no effort to fund the children of the migrant rural workers,the education problem of their children has not been effectively resolved.This paper follows the pace from analyzing the current situation、findingout the problem and deeply analyzing the causes to finally solve the problem,initially adopts the literature reviewing method to statistic the number of themigrant worker,s children in Guiyang in last several years so as to investigatetheir education backgrounds. Secondly, the questionnaire is used to investigatethe learning, living,communication status and current situation of the educationon both school and family for analyzing the existing problems in the children ofthe migrant workers. Series of problems had been existing, such as thedisequilibrium of entrance chance for children of the migrant workers; the arbitrary charge of many schools; the lack of the spaces of teaching for privateschool; the quality of the workers could not get improvements; the defaulting ofthe peasant’s wage, the children’s dropping out of school, the serious lack of thefamily education and so on.What’s more, aiming at these problems, this article has carried on theanalysis in order to find out the deep causes of the education problems onchildren of migrant workers, like the household registration system, educationalsystem, social discriminations, government supervision, education level and soon.Lastly, this article, aiming the existing problem of the children of themigrant workers in Guiyang, pushes forward the countermeasures of theproblem from the view point of the Guiyang municipal government, educationadministration departments,society, school and the peasant themselves. Mypaper believe that, only when we seriously analyze the problems in theeducation of the children of the migrant workers can we force thegovernment,society, schools and migrant workers themselves to pay moreattention to these problems as well as having joint efforts so as to fundamentallysolve the problems.
