Over these years, however, due to the heavy pressure of college entrance examination and people in the erroneous understanding of language teaching,it is often re-curricular light extra-curricular.Students are detained in a small classroom teaching and thin materials, deprived of the rights of students to read a lot, a serious impact on the improvement of students’ language literacy. The language curriculum standards specific requirements and recommendations for extra-curricular reading. Extra-curricular reading activities is an important part of the teaching of reading and culture high grade, degree of difficulty appropriate reading materials should be based on the specific circumstances of different students, timely recommendation to encourage students to engage in a variety of activities, such as writing book reviews, book review, organize book report works seminars, etc., shared reading fun, exchange read the results together to improve reading ability. With the deepening of the new curriculum reform, extra-curricular reading more and more the concern of the language community and the society as a whole. The full text is divided into three parts:The first part of interpretation of the new curriculum standards of the new curriculum standards for high school language accumulated integration feel.Appreciation and understanding thinking applications Development, Discovery and innovation in these five areas language curriculum goals contained specific requirements for language extracurricular reading, from the basic features of the language courses-Tools and humanities to explore the significance of extracurricular reading practice of language education.Second part of the statistical results of the questionnaire and interview survey analysis from the following five aspects to grasp the the Yulin high school students’ extracurricular reading the actual situation:①extra-curricular interest in reading;②extracurricular reading habits;③extracurricular reading method;④extracurricular reading ability;⑤extracurricular reading environment;⑦reading instruction; opinions and suggestions of the the⑧students of schools, teachers and parents. On this basis, combined with the socio-cultural, family education, school education, high school students of the psychological characteristics of factors in-depth analysis of the the Yulin high school the main reason for problems in extra-curricular reading.The third part, according to survey results, it puts forward to improve the high school extra-curricular reading the status of recommendations:(a) change the whole society on the concept of extra-curricular reading;(b) teachers to strengthen reading instruction:a plan to recommend a good book; flexible choose to read; guidance on how to write reading notes; the creation of extra-curricular reading lessons provide time protection; class book corner; the reading of cultural exchange activities (c) to strengthen the school library construction:the increase in books; step up publicity efforts to extend the opening hours; improve the management and facilities (d) to create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere of home reading.I hope these analyzes and exploration can provide a reference for the majority of schools, teachers and parents to strengthen the guidance of high school extracurricular reading to enhance young people’s reading ability and language literacy, training required for the modernization of the personnel.
