Lu Jiuyuan’s College Educational Thoughts And Practice Research

Lu Jiuyuan is a famous philosopher and educator in the Southern Song Dynasty.Taking Huaitang Private School,Xiangshan House as the front, accompanied by giving lessons, hebuilt the system of "mind of heart",and gradually formed the College Educational Thoughts.In China’s educational history,the system is unique and shining, and has important influence on theimprovement of college education and philosophy development of ancient and morden.This study is divided into five parts.In the first part, we introduce the conception of College, and illustrate that Huaitang Private School,Xiangshan House are in the true sense of college.In the second part, we analysis the historical background and theoretical basis which formed CollegeEducational Thoughts of Lu Jiuyuan. Scholarly lineage, the policy implemented by official that attachedimportance to education and philosophy heritage and development needs constitute important historicalbackground. Theoretical basis involves both political and philosophical.The third part is to collate the development porcedure of the Lu Jiuyuan’s College EducationalThoughts.It is generally divided into three stages: the first stage is the founding of Huaitang PrivateSchool, which is the early stage. The second stage is to participate in the academic conference of "Lake ofGoose " and "White Deer", that is the stage of promotion.The last one is the management of XiangshanHouse,construction was completed in this stage.The fourth part is to interprete Lu Jiuyuan’s College Educational Thoughts. We illustrate it from threeaspects: the first is the purpose of College Education, which is to become reasonable, get knowledge from the reading, and become one better person; the second one is the content of CollegeEducation,which is mainly consisted of morals, classics, art and the imperial examination education; thethird aspect is the method of College Education,which respectively discusses the method of teaching andmoral education.The fifth part discusses the influence and revelation of Lu Jiuyuan’s College Educational Thoughts,combined with the current higher education reform, raises that university should take innovation and leadsocial civilization as mission, take developing the "perfect man" as the goal, and should also take bringingup students’ self-study ability and critical spirit as the starting point.
