With the rapid development of production, science and technology today, data and random phenomenon can be seen everywhere. We are in a digital age, dealing with data all the time. The application of statistics has penetrated into every field of society.So the basic knowledge of statistics has become necessary sense to every citizen.However, the statistics teaching has not been paid enough attention in our country. Because of the influence of college orientation, the teacher adopted the traditional method, ignoring the statistics in teaching, ignoring the random phenomena and uncertainty, ignoring the students’ ability to use statistical knowledge solving realistic problems.Statistical knowledge is one of the new required content in the new curriculum reform. The National Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Senior Middle Schools advocates paying attention to statistics, random thoughts, the data analysis and processing. According to status of the statistics teaching at present, the meaning of statistics thoughts should be known to the student, besides, the students should participate in statistical learning actively, all the more, the consciousness and ability to use statistical knowledge and statistics thoughts solving realistic problems should be developed.On the basis of theory and investigation, the article focuses on the study of statistics penetration of the high school mathematics teaching. There are five parts in the text. The first part is about the introduction, mainly on issues of the background and object of content, significance and method. The section two is about the essence of the idea of statistics and my own understanding of the thought of statistics.At the same time, the part explores the embody in the high school mathematics teaching material. The third part is a survey on the teaching situation about the statistical knowledge and statistics thoughts in the high school mathematics teaching. Through the analysis of teacher’s teaching and students’ learning, we can find out the problems in the teaching. According to the teaching situation about the statistics thoughts, the last part of the article proposes some strategies about the statistics thoughts in the high school mathematics teaching, combined with examples to illustrate. The last part of the article is the conclusion, which mainly includes the research summary, the deficiency and the prospect.The research methods of the study mainly include the reference of literature, individual analysis and survey analysis.The innovation of this paper is exploring the essence of the idea of statistics and my own understanding of the thought of statistics. According to the teaching situation about the statistics thoughts,the article offers some strategies about the statistics thoughts in the high school mathematics teaching, which combined with examples to illustrate. But because of the research level limit, the study still exist some shortcomings and defects, which has yet to be further developed.
