In the1970s, Performance technology is born in the United States. The history of study andpractice of performance technology is over30years. Although the past ten years, performancetechnology developed rapidly in the U.S and China, but it is still a new technology andun-mature field to study.Performance technology, also known as Human Performance Technology (HumanPerformance Technology, referred to as HPT).As the name suggests, it is a field about improvingor increasing performance and efficiency. Performance technology is a solution to a problem, and most of them have the same basic elements in model: analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation (ADDIE). Performance Technology is a strong practical field. Theultimate goal of performance technology is solving human performance problems. Althoughthere is not a uniform definition about performance technology, many scholars have a unifiedview in understanding performance technology characteristics, such as systematic and integrity. The theory of Performance technology based on systems theory, psychology of learning, instructional system design, behavioral engineering, economics and management science. Withthe development of performance technology research and practice, the course of performancetechnology continues to cause concern. Although there are few schools set up system course onperformance technology at domestic and foreign, many schools began to consider additionalcourses in the field of performance technology. This article divided the curriculum into three categories: performance technology basedcurriculums, performance technology operated curriculums, related fields of knowledgecurriculums. Performance technology operated curriculums will be broken down into fourcategories: analysis curriculums, design and development curriculums, and implementation andchange curriculums, evaluate curriculums. According to the International Society forPerformance Improvement (ISPI) website http://www.ispi.org/listed the name of thirty-eightcollege members, we study the setting of performance technology curriculum in the thirty-eightcolleges access the internet. The Study found that performance technology operated curriculumssetting in U.S. colleges take up a larger proportion. It focused on the ability of solvingperformance problems in design and development. Both basic knowledge curriculums andpractice curriculums are essential. We also should focus on interdisciplinary learning.ISPI Performance Technology problem-solving process: performance analysis, reasonanalysis, design and selection of problem solutions, implementation and change of problemsolutions, evaluation. During the investigation, the author found that Performance Managementhas become an indispensable part of research in the field of performance technology. So thearticle will refine performance technology into five research areas: analysis, design and development, implementation, evaluation, performance management. The article will detailanalysis each type of application. The article will select two U.S. professional associations in thefield of performance technology to introduce in order to enhance the understanding of thepractice of performance technology. This article include the Introduction and four chapters: the Introduction Chapter describesthe topics of background, research status, contents and methods of research. Chapter tworeviewed the generation of performance technology, content, and development status and brieflyintroduces the U.S. performance technology curriculum status. Chapter three analysis thirty-eightU.S. colleges in their different forms of performance technology courses by three points: trainingobjectives, raining levels, raining methods. Finally we concluded the situation of performancetechnology curriculums in U.S. colleges. Chapter four classified the performance technologyfield, analysis one by one and summary. Based on China’s national conditions and Chineseuniversities, Chapter five build a professional performance technology training model incurriculum, give a number of recommendations. Finally, a summary of the paper work pointedout the shortcomings.
