The elementary education reform in China is carrying on like a raging fire," the ordinary high school history curriculum standard (Experiment)" promulgate, the high school history textbooks compiled all new, rich and colorful, illustrated. The historical illustrations in textbooks is becoming more and more heavy weight, so the illustrations in the history teaching in the increasingly important position. With the progressive teaching method, teaching method unceasing progress, in this situation, historical pictures in teaching has been paid more and more attention. How to effectively use the historical picture is becomes a necessary task in middle school history teaching research.In this paper," the ordinary high school history curriculum standard (Experiment)" under the guidance of learning and research, through the relevant theories of education, educational psychology theory, teaching theory and previous research results, combined with his own teaching practice, to person teaching edition is mandatory2history textbooks as an example, on the history textbook illustrations and their application some aspects of the in-depth analysis and explanation on the use of illustrations in textbooks, summed up and some suggestions.In the preface, introduced in the teaching of history in pictures of students the necessity, the current teaching in some of the problems, and summarizes the predecessor to the picture described teaching some important research results, as well as the domestic and foreign research status of teaching.This article divided into three parts, to discuss the history textbook illustrations of the application, the first part general textbook on history illustrations were summarized, analyzed its function, definition and classification, and cited in textbooks relevant illustrations to illustrate; the second part of the textbook illustrations by on-the-spot investigation, survey all the school history teachers and in a part of the students, and summed up the illustration utilization deficiency; the third part summarizes the history textbook illustrations using some of the strategies, principles and methods, combined with the concrete case analysis. Hope that through their own point of view, to today’s history teaching can have a modest effect of illustrations.
