Under the background of aging population, institution endowment service becomesthe important support power of China’s endowment service system. Weather can providethe high quality service matters the life quality and happiness of the aged who live in theinstitution. As an occupation of owning the professional endowment knowledge and workmethods and skills, social work will play a major role in improving service quality level ofinstitution endowment, meeting the old multi-level and diversified endowment demand.Now, Domestic institutions endowment services generally have the problems, such as thesingle endowment content and the low specialized level, that hinder the furtherdevelopment of the endowment institutions. At the same time, the factors of lacking theprofessional social workers and the methods don’t accord with the practice work, are alsoagainst professional organization to provide elderly services. For these reasons, the passagechoose the perspective of the social work professional methods involved in institutionendowment service to do a research about how do the social work methods play its dueutility in practice work, exemplified by the Suzhou Social Welfare Home. So other pensioninstitutions can learn some experience about the application of social work methods.This paper used the literature research, field participation observation and interviewmethod to do the research. Firstly, through the literatures on the development of domesticinstitutional pension services, the problems and the reasons, we do it for the preliminaryunderstanding. Secondly, through the field to participate in Suzhou Social Welfare Home,do a research of this institution of social work methods in the operational procedures.Through the casework and group work to involved in the practical work of the institutionsto test the validity of the methods. Through interviews with the elderly who have receivedsocial work services, to assess the feasibility of the methods of work. Finally, according tothe reflection questions put forward the corresponding countermeasures. In short, to reallyplay its role in the pension institution of the social work methods can not be so easily achieved, we need the government, pension institutions and social workers to make jointefforts to promote the using in institutions of social work methods.
