Based on the existing research about endowment service institution, social work practice and the role orientation of social workers, there are few studies on the role of social work interns from the perspective of students. According to the author’s social work practice in an endowment service institution, two research methods which are literature research and participatory observation are used.First, analyzed the relationship between social work interns and other subjects which are practice institutions (practice department and other departments), cooperation team (interns and volunteers), clients and school (supervisors and classmates).Then, for the role confusion that encountered in the process of role practice such as role ambiguity, role overload, role strain, role incongruity and role conflict, analyzed the reasons for those role imbalances.Finally, put forward ideas and suggestions that helps role orientation accurately from four aspects which are government level, practice institutions, social work educational institutions (profession associations and schools) and social work interns themselves.
