With the development of the times and society, significance of autonomic learning becomes more and more obvious, modern education should be adapted to the development trend of autonomic learning. As a the new curriculum reform advocated learning, autonomic learning has become an important topic of current educational research. Based on the understanding of essentiality, possibility and urgency of autonomic learning studies in high-grade students of rural primary school, I tried to perform empirical research of status quo and existing problems of autonomic learning. In this paper, autonomic learning is narrowly defined:under the scientific guidance of teachers, the students undertake consciously active and creative learning and achieve independent-development educational practice. Autonomic learning of high-grade students in rural primary school is a research process which is carried out under the guidance and support of the teacher This study is based on the rural background.According to the nature of autonomic learning connotation and its influencing factors of pupils, we learn and absorb domestic and foreign research results, and refer to information on questionnaire about autonomic learning at home or abroad. Our study was performed from four dimensions:autonomy of students (including students’self awareness and learning initiative of the students), independent learning ability or policy, condition of autonomic learning (including both inside and outside), and effect of autonomous learning. We make a questionnaire, which has a high degree of reliability and validity and can be used as a measuring tool for high-grade students’autonomous learning in rural primary schools. In our study, we selected three rural primary schools in Shaanxi and Chongqing, conducted a questionnaire survey on the situation of autonomous learning for students of grade four, five. We also carried out student interviews, teacher interviews and classroom observation. Through the processing, statistics and analysis of survey results, we have summarized the autonomous learning situation, including achievements and problems, analyzed the problem, and proposed countermeasures and suggestions.Through survey on autonomic learning of high-grade students in rural primary schools, we can find that autonomic learning is valued and recognized. Students prefer this approach to learning, and their attitude and purpose is clear. Autonomous learning has played a positive role in development of students. We also found that the development trend of autonomous learning ability of pupils is rising. At the same time, we also found that there are some problems in autonomous learning of high-grade students in rural primary schools. These problems include that autonomous learning is a mere formality, the autonomous learning activeness of students has not been developed well, the students have not made a good habit of autonomous learning, their ability of autonomous learning is low, they are not very good at using the learning strategy, the learning conditions of rural students are weak, it is the record but not process of autonomous learning to which was attached importance in evaluation of autonomous learning and evaluation way is single, the learning autonomy of grade six lower than that of grade five, girls are little better than the boys in autonomous learning. In view of its existing problems, we analyze the reasons from different perspectives, at the same time, put forward countermeasure and suggestion. First, to change the concepts of education, to improve the quality of rural teachers, and to change the traditional way of teaching. Second, to excite the internal learning interest and motive of students, to promote the autonomous learning motivation of pupils in rural areas, to strengthen guidance of autonomous learning strategies and methods, and to lead pupils to learn. Attention to vary from person to person, it is especially important to strengthen the guidance and help for male students in certain aspects of autonomous learning. To choose a suitable way to cultivate according to the different students with different learning characteristics. Third, schools, families and society must create conditions and provide support for effective deployment of autonomous learning. Fourth, to establish a new evaluation mechanism and to form effective assessment method. The research is vital to the effective carrying out of rural autonomous learning and the curriculum reform deepth in the important theoretical significance It also provides a meaningful reference for the improvement of teaching quality in rural areas and development of teachers and students.
