In recent years, teachers’ professionalization and professional development has beenthe focus problem of the society and educational field. For the problems of how topromote educational reform and how to improve the ability of teachers’ education andteaching, education scholars and practitioners are carrying out different levels of study.As the new curriculum reform deepens, teacher training of our primary and secondaryhas been constantly reforming and innovating. But the secondary school teachers’professional skills development still have many problems, such as the unevendevelopment of teachers’ overall skills, the lack of class teaching skills training and theweak capacity of cooperative education research, etc. This study clarified theconnotation of secondary school teachers’ professional skills and theoretical basis, anddug the existed problems thoroughly by using the methods of investigationquestionnaire, chatting and observing. Finally, starting from the school-based reality andcombining the concrete theory and practice, the study put forward some school-basedstrategies to build and improve the development teachers’ professional skills, whichcontained four parts, school based training, school-based teach-researching,school-based evaluation and school based management.This thesis is divided into five parts:Chapter one is the introduction part, including the issues proposing, the purpose ofthe study, and illustrated the significance of the study from theory and practice, thensummarized the relevant literature on teachers’ professional skill standard system athome and abroad and the domestic teachers’ professional skill development, andexplained the research methods and main content.Chapter two clarified the relevant connotation and made the theoretical overview. It defined the core concept of teachers’ professional skill and school-based strategies, andmade the theoretical overview from the angle of teachers’ professionalization andprofessional development. Then it further expounded the relationship between thedevelopment of teachers’ professional skills and the school. It provided theoreticalfoundation for school-based strategies to enhance teachers’ professional skills.Chapter three analyzed status quo and probed the problems of teachers’ professionalskill development. According to the statistical result of the data provided by thequestionnaire, we found out the problems and obstacles of teachers’ professional skills,which are reflected in three respects: the problems of teachers’ professional skills; theproblems of the subject awareness, and the problems of various external objectivefactors, such as the problems of skills training measures, encourage and valuation.Chapter four is the reason analysis part. It analyzed the reasons in-depth from fouraspects: teachers themselves; teaching-research group; school administrator andschool system in management.Chapter five presented several concrete school-based strategies to enhance teachers’professional skills from four aspects: school based training, school-basedteach-researching, school-based evaluation and school based management.
