The research on teaching method is the everlasting theme of thereform in education. It aims at finding a teaching method with which the studentscan learn more while teachers teach less. As a consequence, there is less noisy,boring and useless work but more happy, relaxed and great progress. Teachers carryon the opinions and researching achievements from the predecessors, and have neverstopped the discussion of teaching method. The students at normal college (normalcollege students for short) all have practice teaching before graduation in order tolearn more piratical teaching experience. They give real classes at school as teachersand are instructed by their guidance teachers. However, at the beginning, normalcollege students usually have difficulty in adapting to the teaching environment andthey can’t fully understand the advice because they may forget the process ofteaching. So they can hardly objectively do the self-estimation and improve.Microteaching which is invented at Stanford University by Doctor Allen andhis colleagues can solve the problems in the situations above. Microteaching is acontrollable practical system which enables the normal college students and teachersto focus on a specific teaching behavior or learn something. Based on the theory ofeducation, audio-visual theory and teaching techniques, it is a method which cantrain the teaching skills of teachers.Sport Universities not only train the practical ability of sports but also theteaching skills as well. Teaching skill is the fundamental ability for a student tobecome a qualified physical education teacher. Also, it is a way of achieving theteaching aims for P.E. teachers in the teaching process.With the methods of documentary, experts interviewing, teaching experimentand mathematical statistics, this article researches on the theory evidence, teachingprinciples, teaching skill classification system, teaching program teaching environment and teaching evaluation of microteaching both theoretically andpractically. It also tries to use the microteaching method to improve the skills ofTennis Major Students. It is proved in practice that as a cultural method to improvethe skills of the tennis major students, microteaching has clear goals and highlights.It is easily mastered and controlled. Microteaching helps improve the skills of thestudents at Sport University and can shorten the time of role switching from studentsto teachers. It can solve the problem of the short time practice for tennis majorstudents and lay a solid foundation to the practice teaching for students in the future.
