Learning adaptability refers to a tendency of overcoming various difficulties to achieve better learning effects; also it can say a kind of learning ability. It directly influences the students’learning effect and mental health. Now difficulties in learning adaptability have become a common phenomenon that students have been encountered in study process. Especially in the city, under the strong survival and competitive pressures, learning adaptability of junior high school students should draw our attention. In secondary school, changes of students’physical and mental, and the changes of learning environment, learning content, and learning pattern, these factors lead to junior high school students have difficulty in learning adaptation. Adding too much thought of their parents, as well as the unfair education evaluation system, make them faced excessive learning task and a big learning pressure. Living long in this state, the development of physical and mental health will be subject to damage.Aimed at above-mentioned problem, many subjects such as Psychology and Education have done many researches, hoping that improve junior high school students’ learning adaptability by using their theory and methods. Comparing with Psychology and Education, as a subject that study human behavior and the social environment, Social Work can find out the social environment in which junior high school students live, analyses the impact that various groups exert to their learning adaptability under the guidance of System theory. Thus Social Work can use unique professional method to improve the current city junior middle school students’ learning adaptability from different angles.This study sets up the city junior high school students as research object. Drawing lessons from ATT test revised by Professor Zhou Bucheng, we designed junior high school students’learning adaptability questionnaire according to actual conditions. We hope that through the investigation of the learning adaptability of middle school students in the city, combining with the System theory and three professional methods, to explore the following aspects:1、the real situation of the learning adaptability of middle school students in the city, including learning attitude, learning methods and learning environment, the physical and mental health.2、the factors of influencing the learning adaptability of middle school students, and how these factors effect on junior high school students’ learning adaptability problem.3、social case work, group work, community work, how to intervene City Learning Adaptability of middle school students problem, whether it is feasible and effective.
