The development of information technology to promote the industry’s change, but also to the quality of people put forward higher request, especially on national education career has produced a great and profound effect, especially for China’s basic education produced unprecedented challenges. In this context, the multimedia computer, network, communication based on information technology in high school geography the teaching application shows the broad prospect. On this basis, this paper analyzed carefully information technology background, the high school geography teaching the new situation faced, closely connected with the high school geography teaching characteristics, collecting a line of high school geography teaching case, a comprehensive discussion in the information technology background, the high school geography teachers how to integrate geographic discipline and information technology two resource, for the use of high school geography teaching software and hardware resource advantages, and update the high school geography teaching methods and constantly optimize the classroom teaching process, reduce high school students too much cognitive burden, improve the high school student’s learning efficiency of geography. This paper will be divided into five parts of this paper:The first part is introduction, mainly expounds the research background, research current situation, the theoretical basis and method. Clear the domestic and overseas scholars about information technology in high school geography teaching in the research of the present situation, for the whole article lays the foundation of writing.The second part is the information technology in high school in the teaching of geography theory basis, mainly from the constructivism, cognitive socialist and multiple intelligence theory are discussed. The article elaborated the information technology application in high school geography teaching theory rely on, and contemporary high school geography in new course standard for information technology application in high school geography teaching the urgent need.The third part is information technology in the present situation of the application of high school geography teaching investigation and analysis, mainly through the questionnaire survey way, to grasp the information technology in high school in the teaching of geography class specific gravity, investment, efficiency and so on the condition, on the basis of the analysis of the data, a line about high school geography teaching actual at the existing problem, the boxes. The fourth part is information technology in high school in the teaching of geography application explores, through the two cases, explore and specific high school geography teaching practice combined, pay attention to the information technology in the ascension high school geography teaching efficiency, and improve the classroom flexibility and strengthen the students’ creativity.
