Geographic information technology has powerful data acquisition, processing and analysis application functions. It can be applied to high school geography classrooms as a means of assisting teaching. It can not only meet the needs of digital teaching, but also contribute to the cultivation of students' geography core literacy, and promote the implementation of the standard concept of geography new curriculum. In foreign countries, geographic information technology assisted high school geography teaching has been widely used. However, domestic geographic information technology started late, and its application research in geography teaching in high school is not mature enough. There are problems such as the auxiliary function of high school regional geography and the insufficient mining of knowledge boards, the operation of auxiliary teaching skills and the in-depth evaluation of effects. This study takes the three-high school regional geography textbooks of the PEP version as the research object, and uses the questionnaire survey method, the case study method and the educational measurement method to sort out the knowledge sections of the regional geography textbooks that apply the geographic information technology to assist the teaching, and dig deep into the auxiliary functions of geographic information technology in regional geography teaching, the establishment of geographic information technology to assist the high school regional geography teaching resource database, and carry out typical case teaching design and empirical analysis. The main findings are as follows:(1)combing the Pedagogic version of the compulsory three high school regional geography textbooks for the knowledge-based teaching of geographic information technology, and digging deep into the auxiliary functions of geographic information technology in regional geography teaching. The results show that:(1)The chapters of the three-high school regional geography textbooks for geographic information technology-assisted teaching can be divided into four categories: regional positioning, dynamic change, thematic elements, and multi-element superposition analysis.(2)Different types of knowledge sections apply different geographic information technologies.Among them, the regional positioning teaching content is suitable for geolocation, search, query, browsing and other functions to assist;dynamic change class teaching content is suitable for RS multi-temporal,large-area dynamic monitoring function to assist;the topical element class teaching content is applicable to GIS thematic map making function It is assisted;the multi-element overlay analysis class is supplemented by the GIS overlay analysis function.(2)Inductive software related to geographic information technology assisted teaching, enumerate the access methods of supporting data, analyze the applicability of the obtained data, and establish a teaching resource database of geographic information technology to assist high school regional geography. The results show that:(1)Geographic information technology related software can be used to assist teaching.Among them,ArcGIS,ENVI,ERDAS Imagine and Google Earth are the most commonly used auxiliary teaching software.(2)The types of data required for regional positioning, dynamic change, thematic elements and multi-element overlay analysis are: online data(for example,Google Earth),multi-temporal data, and regional natural human data.(3)The steps to support data acquisition can be divided into three steps: creating a file geodatabase, georeferencing, data collection input and organization.(4)The high school regional geography teaching resource database categories have three types: thematic map, remote sensing image, geographic location and range.(3)To follow the principles of high school geography new curriculum standards, closely related regional geography textbooks, software and hardware adaptability, and geography of life as teaching design principles, carry out typical case teaching design, construct teaching effect analysis model and index system, and practice case teaching Conduct an empirical analysis. The results show that :The overall teaching effect of the class using GIS is more ideal than the class without GIS.It is mainly reflected in the evaluation index of students' ability training, that is,GIS assisted teaching helps students' ability to cultivate. The research results closely follow the high school geography teaching needs, which can provide guidance and reference for the development of geographic information technology to assist high school regional geography teaching, cultivate students' geography core literacy and promote the implementation of geography new curriculum standards.
