The coaches’training concept is their points of view about the training formed after their long time rational thinking on the basis of their knowledge and experience. It decides coaching methods, the style of the competitive sports and the performance of athletes. It is guidance of the study of the sports theory and sport practice. It’s also a bridge linking theory and practice.Literature review, expert investigation approach, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistic method were used in this study to estimate the representation of track and field coaches’training concepts in training in our country, aiming at revealing the status quo, finding out the deficiencies and problems in a deeper level, and offering suggestions in order to make some contribution to the development of track and field in China.Conclusions are as follows:1. Training ideas is coach’s view and thought of the whole sports training process. It comes from sports training theory and practical training. In terms of sports training theory, training theory mainly embodied in the view and thought of basic training theroy and special training theroy. In terms of sports practice, it mainly manifests in specific operation link of sports training process. Training ideas is an intermediary of training theroy and practical training, serving as a guide of practical training.2. Our country’s athletic coaches’training theory shows the main features on sports training theroy are as follows:Training ideas basically give priority to emphasizing education, pay attention to promote athletes’individuality and develop their creativity. They have understood the rules and characteristics of teaching project, and fully realized the importance of scientific training. But owing to lack of self structure of knowledge and innovation capability, their learning ability reduced. It indirectly caused their unbalanced, less profound view of sports training related theroy. They can’t apply the corresponding scientific means to practical training. The lack of innovation consciousness of training method and means lead to the prevalence of Grafting Doctrine and Takes Doctrine.3. There are few chances for coaches to exchange their experience in the training and matches, and they often keep secrets from one another, which is not a good thing for the sharing of advanced training concept. Affected by the funds and other reasons, many coaches have no opportunity to take training classes, thus they cannot learn from advanced training concept.4. Our country’s athletic coaches’ training theory shows the main features on specific sports training practice are as follows:Able to onduct training and competition cycle arrangements on the basis of athlete’body and mind development characteristics at different stages. And arrange training method and means according to practical need principle, pay attention to athletes’communication in the training, fully realized the importance of Competition for training and Competition promote training in the practical training. But owing to the influence of Performance Appraisal and Only Achievement Theory, the thought of Give result early, Give result quickly is still serious.
