This study adopted the method of investigation, made a description of the status of the PE teacher’s work stress source, job satisfaction and job burnout in private colleges in the two areas of Beijing and Xian. It also made a comparative study on the differences of the three aspects among the PE teachers in private college, the PE teachers in the public universities and the non-PE teachers in private colleges in the two areas of Beijing and Xian.Measuring tools are university teachers’work stress questionnaire, job satisfaction questionnaire, job burnout questionnaire. The job stress scale of the university faculty adopted the Tao Fang Fang’s version in May2006compiled by referring to the approaches of Kyriacou&Sutculiffe (1978), and the scale of Likert-type. The job satisfaction scales are from a Taiwan scholar ZhengXiYan (1984). Job burnout scales are from the Maslaeh Bunrouthnvenioyr (MBI)(1986). In this study it selected one big city Beijing and medium city Xi’an, issued altogether600questionnaires to the university teachers and300to each city, and475were to obtain valid data. According to our results the following conclusions:According to the results of this study, the conclusions are as follows:1. The main factors which make a influence of the work stress source of the PE teacher in private college are the personal professional development, the management system of the college and interpersonal relationship; the main factors which influence the overall job satisfaction are:treatment, promotion and further study; The main factors for overall job burnout are emotional exhaustion and low sense of achievement.2. For the PE teachers in Private colleges, female teachers bear more pressure than male teachers; As the growth of the age, pressure is increasing; the higher the degree is, the greater pressure the PE teachers bear; Married PE teachers endure even more pressure; the PE teachers with different titles of the technical post has notable effect to work pressure source3. To the PE teachers in Private colleges, female teachers have lower job satisfaction rate than male teachers; the married and the PE teachers with higher degree have a lower job satisfaction rate; The age, the professional title have significant effect on job satisfaction.4. To the PE teachers in private colleges, the one with more aged, the higher professional titles and higher degrees will have a higher job burnout rate. The gender and the marriage status make no difference.5. The PE teachers in private colleges have more work stress, higher job burnout and lower job satisfaction compared with the PE teachers in public universities on the level of work stress source.6. The PE teachers in private colleges have more work stress, higher job burnout and lower job satisfaction compared with the non PE teachers in private colleges on the level of work stress source.7. As to work stress source, the PE teachers of private college in Beijing have more work stress, higher job burnout and lower job satisfaction than the PE teachers of private college in Xian.8. Work stress source, job satisfaction on job burnout has certain prediction effect.
