The weak link in the current rural childhood education development is to build the teacher team. Based on this background, together with the Nokia (China) Investment Co., Ltd.(Nokia), China Guanghua Science&Technology Foundation, and the child RTP (Right To Play), hold the project "Hand in Hand projects of early childhood parenting and education", the second phase of the teacher ability-building module. Through the training of ability-building module, the teachers from six project counties (from the central, western and northern regions of China) have taken part in various training activities.And we also use the methods of interviews, focus group discussion,questionnaires, observation and so on to study the training needs from649rural kindergarten teachers,12educational administrators whose purpose are to improve the quality of teacher training more effectively.We found from the research that:(1) Nearly half of rural preschool teachers (49.9%) rarely have the opportunity to participate in training,94.2%of kindergarten teachers have very strong demand for job training.(2)35.3%of kindergarten teachers believe that current training does not meet their growth needs. The training method is also a big issue, such as "The practice of training is not enough". In the contents of training, the teachers think the main problem is that "contents are not practical" and "It is lack of targeted layered in training".(3)The most urgent demanding for training of Kindergarten teachers in rural areas are professional skills and techniques. The projects of "Occupational Basic Literacy "and" The Newest Educational Theories " are also welcomed by the teachers.(4) For the demand of the method of training, the top popular item in the form is "to go out to observe、" specific guidances of the experts/famous teachers","experts lectures"、"the communications between kindergartens"、"lectures and guides"、"participatory training.’Based on the above findings, we believe that, the hand-in-hand project should be focused on the following points:(1) The training should be focused on practicality, feasibility, and up-to-dat.(2) The form of training should be focused on innovative, authority and leveled.(3)The training should be advanced, to provide them the concept of teaching skills.(4) To build the network platform between "the experts-local trainers-teachers".
