Today, with the rapid development of scientific and technological innovation, human resources have become the country’s first important resources. Economic development and social development in the final analysis is the comprehensive development of the people. Who has mastered the key of the competition for talent, who will be able to sustainable development and enduring? After the era of financial crisis, Europe, the United States and other developed countries start "re-industrialization" strategy to get out of economic quagmire. Vigorously developing vocational education industry becomes an important part of the re-industrialization plan. Cultivate good, to make good use of primary resources for the development of good talent, has became a key task of China’s current and future periods. Vocational education which to carry out the major task of training high-quality labor and professional highly skilled is an important part of our educational system. So vocational education is of great practical significance to China’s economic development and social progress. From macro perspective, domestic and foreign research on vocational education and economic development is a lot. On the microscopic study abroad, empirical research in foreign academic is more than in domestic. Domestic research to learn from foreign research-based study stays in the level of macroeconomic policies and countermeasures. Quantify of empirical analysis is small. And many academics are few studies on the interaction between the vocational education and economic development in the USA, empirical research is rarer. Therefore, the interaction between vocational education and economic development in the USA is of great theory and practical significance.This paper aims to study the interaction between vocational education and economic development to the United States as the background. This paper reviews the related literature and economics theory of the subject, summarizes the impact of the relationship between type of vocational education and economic development, and vocational education is redefined. Secondly, the paper includes the analysis of industrial structure and labor market structure analysis. And it is found that the United States is based on the knowledge economy-driven form of economic development model. In addition, through the comparative analysis of the China-US vocational education, it obtained single body of China’s vocational education, the convergence of academic and vocational courses, the lack of vocational education degree level training system, a single source of funding of vocational education in China, and there gradually decreasing trend. Thirdly, it sum up the characteristics of vocational education and economic development and successful experiences about the USA, as well as the shortcomings that it may exist in order to explore the interaction mechanism of the vocational education and economic development. Then we can find effective solutions to help vocational education in China better adapt to new economic development. Fourthly, it calculate the contribution rate of the American Vocational Education of the U.S. economy, by using economic models and using econometric software to analyze the interaction between vocational education and economic development. It proves the correctness of the vocational education and economic development of interaction theory. Finally, based on the conclusions we put forward recommendations on vocational education in China.
