National fortune relies on education. Our country is in economic transition, and itneed to build higher and vocational education system to optimize vocational trainingmodel. Higher vocational education has changed the structure of the labor marketsupply and demand, expanding employment and promoting re-employment foreconomic growth to provide human resources and other aspects of security transitionsignificance.This paper describes the study of American history and the current developmentof higher vocational education, and it describes the current situation and problems ofChina higher vocational education. The paper uses the method of combining theoryand empirical analysis, optimization of vocational education in the allocation ofresources, improving the vocational education system, strengthen the schoolcharacteristics, focusing on the teaching of convergence, to strengthen the teachingreform and other aspects of the education system to promote the construction ofvocational advice, through analysis of the two countries in the management system ofhigher vocational education system, funding teachers, subject settings, educationalstructure, teaching philosophy, differences exist in terms of school characteristics,.Part I: History and Current Situation of American Higher Vocational EducationDevelopment. My paper analyzes the American Vocational Education in theembryonic period, formative years, and the main condition to accelerate developmentperiod and the status. It focuses on the present situation and characteristics ofvocational education in America and proposes its development process deficiencies.This part describes the development of vocational education in the United States,providing a theoretical basis for the following.Part II: Current Situation and Analysis of Higher Vocational Education in China.My paper introduces the current situation of higher vocational education, as well asanalyzes the problem facing the development of vocational education in China. Fromthis part of the comparative study, the paper sums up the outstanding problems ofhigher vocational education, providing a guide for the following research.Part III: A Comparative Study of Chinese and American Higher VocationalEducation Enlightenment to China. The third part mainly talks about countermeasuresagainst the previous understanding of the status and the analysis of the problem, combined with the theory and status of vocational education in our country, withrelevant experience in American higher vocational education, and makesrecommendations on science building of higher education. First, it needs to strengthenthe security and rational allocate vocational education resources; second, it needs toconverge science and perfect for higher vocational education system. Throughscientific curriculum, it adheres to opening up educational philosophy, andprofessional development of teachers qualified teachers’ team, the innovative forms ofeducation and other ways strengthens the convergence of higher vocational educationand vocational qualification certificate mechanism. Third, it needs to change concepts,highlighting the school characteristics. By highlighting the school characteristics, wecan adhere to the opening-up to increase the society’s view, highlighting the schoolcharacteristics. Fourth, it needs to strengthen training, and promoting combinationwith industry practice, study and research. We need to deepen the reform of thecurricula, and strengthen the teaching reform, strengthen the training baseconstruction, and promote combination. The above four points on the building ofhigher education science, improving relevant mechanism for a full range of feasibilitystudies, to realize China has breakthrough in the theory and practice of highervocational education provided advice.
