Mr. Ye Sheng tao said that cultivating the ability of self-revisingcomposition would be beneficial for a lifetime. But this ability tends tobe neglected during the teaching practice of high school composition, for lack of the guidance of some effective methods and the referablespecific processing strategies with stronger nature of subjectivity andrandomness. Therefore, each school goes one`s own way and eachteacher does what he thinks is right. It is essential to take some concretemeasures to boost our students`writing level. So making great efforts tothis ability will direct improve students`writing skills. The core task of the New Curriculum Amendment is to promotestudent`s development as maximum as possible and to construct anautonomous, collaborative, explorative and communicating learningplatform. Similarly, the Shanghai Second Curriculum Reform puts greatemphasis on fostering the students`innovative spirit and practical ability, and on sticking to their sustainable development. Consequently, theShanghai Curriculum Standard of Junior and Senior Chinese (Trial Edition)has put forward numerous profound and revolutionary guidance andproposals. In these revolutionary situations, a probe into the standard andprinciples and methods of high school self-revising composition wouldbe taken in my dissertation, with the help of modern instructionaltheories and my teaching experiences. The dissertation would strive toreflect the frontier and maneuverability of the strategies, and aim tocarry on the significant exploration of high school teaching ofcomposition.First of all, the author to some extent analyses the current situationof high school writing correction and revision via literature analysis andresearch interview, deeply thinking about the current situation from the aspects of teacher and student, according to the viewpoint from ahigh school Chinese teacher working at the first-line teaching battle. After that, the Five Principles that the self-revising composition shouldabide by are put forward in accordance with some theoretical bases, namely, Maslows hierarchy of needs, Babanski`s teaching processoptimization theory, the relevant theories of the Shanghai CurriculumStandard of Junior and Senior Chinese (Trial Edition). The Five Principlesare the principle of gradual improvement, the principle of timeliness, the principle of persistence, the principle of individuation, the principleof practicality. Eventually, Combined with my teaching practice, somespecific strategies of high school self-revising composition are proposed. From the focus on pragmatic approach, utilize dividing stages andtraining step by step, with various and effective approaches, such asself-correction, group correction, mutual correction. From the focus oninteraction between teachers and students, utilize the followingstrategies: do not play monodrama but allow everybody to air his view(developing students`subjective initiative thoroughly); enlighten a lightso beacon the world (developing the demonstration effect of anexcellent work thoroughly);cure one kind of disease then heal theworld(developing the caution effect of the weak compositionthoroughly); example is better than precept. This dissertation on behalf of the high school teaching ofcomposition is intended to give an initiatory probe in hope thatprovides the valuable references with all of you Chinese teachers.
