Physical exercise is an important way and means to improvemental health. At present many scholars have made a lot of researchon the relationship between physical exercise and some psychologicalindex (such as the self-concept, the levels of depression, cognitiveprocess, etc)Self-esteem is the core of mental health, which isconsidered to be the best individual character variable to predict thechange in life and the feelings. And physical self-esteem is a specificfield of self-esteem, which is defined as “individual related to socialevaluation closely makes evaluations on different aspects of the body”.Body self-esteem can predict the psychological benefits of exercisers.Research the influence of stylish skipping on the junior high schoolstudents physical self-esteem and each dimension of the physicalself-esteem, we can explore the feasibility to promote the stylishskipping in middle school, riching the implementation approach ofphysical education, which could enhance the students interest onparticipating in physical exercises, helping them to set up correct sportsview, and improving the students physical self-esteem level.This study adopts questionnaire to invest1318junior high schoolstudents, and takes literature material method, mathematical statisticsmethod, interview method and other methods to research and analysisdifferent groups of investigation object. The results of the study showthat:①The degree of understanding on the stylish skipping is notenough, but nearly half of the boys and70%girls are willing to study andpractice stylish skipping, girls willing is more intense;Stylish skipping canattract the junior middle school students attention, who would like tocontact and attempt to attend stylish skipping;The students have aexplicit cognition on the value of stylish skipping, and the way participating in stylish skipping is also diversity.②There are extremelysignificant differences between participants and general surveysamples in general physical self-worth, sport competence, physicalcondition, physical self-esteem scores. There is significant difference inphysical quality and physical attractiveness.③There is extremelysignificant difference between participants and non-participants in thephysical self-esteem dimensions and physical self-esteem scores butphysical attractiveness,and there is significant difference in physicalattractiveness.④There are no significant gender differences in generalphysical self-worth, physical condition and physical attractiveness, andthere significant gender difference in sport competence, physicalquality and physical self-esteem scores, the boys’ score is higher thanthe girls’. Involvement of stylish skipping in different grade betweenmale and female students have significant differences in physicalself-esteem dimensions, With the higher grade, gender differences inphysical self-esteem increase.⑤There are significant grade differencesin general physical self-worth, sport competence, physical condition,physical quality and physical self-esteem scores. However, there is nosignificant grade difference in physical attractiveness. From the meanschart, physical self-esteem scores declines as the grade increases.⑥The results reveal that: There are significant differences in sportcompetence, physical quality and physical self-esteem scores betweenparticipants who have involved1-6months and participants who haveinvolved more than2years. There are significant differences in sportcompetence between participants who have involved1-6months andparticipants who have involved1-2years.To enable more students to participate in the rope skipping,improving the students physical self-esteem, we put forward thefollowing suggestions:①Stimulate students interest in sports;②According to the gender, age characteristics of students adapt or create the rope skipping reasonably;③Carry out more different rangeof rope skipping competitions.
