Objective:To explore the influence of 6-week and 12-week "basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise on the body self-esteem and self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school.and test the mediation effect of physical self-esteem in the relationship between "basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise and self-confidence.In order to improve the physical self-esteem and self-confidence of the senior students in primary school by sports intervention,and to provide the foundation for developing the exercise intervention program to enhance the self-confidence of the senior students in primary school from the angle of enhancing the physical self-esteem.Methods:70 students in two classes of grade 5 in a primary school in Yangzhou were selected by convenient sampling as the research object and divided into experimental group(17 males and 18 females)and control group(22 males and 13 females).The experimental group was intervened for 12 weeks,3 times a week,with 30 minutes’ moderate strength"basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise.The control group was given regular physical education according to the syllabus.One week before the experiment,in the 7th weeks and after the intervention,they were measured in the class by using the "Children’s body Self-esteem scale" and "the questionnaire of Primary School students’ self-confidence".Results:(1)After 12 weeks of experimental intervention,time factor and group factor interaction existed in health,coordination,overall self-esteem,motor skills and total scores of the senior grade students in primary school(Ps<0.05),the main effect of time factor is significant in endurance dimension(P<0.05),and the main effect of group factor is significant in strength dimension(P<0.05);time factor and group factor interaction existed in sports self-confidence,self-negation and the total score of self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school(P<0.05),the main effect of time factor is significant in the dimensions of self-affirmation,learning self-confidence,instrumentation confidence,parental communication and peer interaction(Ps<0.05),and the main effect of group factor is significant in moral self-confidence and peer interaction dimension(Ps<0.05).(2)After 6 weeks of "basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise,the coordination dimension of physical self-esteem of the senior grade students in primary school was significantly improved(P<0.01),and sports self-confidence,self-negation and the total score of self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school were also significantly improved.(Ps<0.05).The effect of intervention lasting for 12 weeks was better than that for 6 weeks,and the benefit of intervention increased gradually with the increase of duration of intervention.(3)The effect of "basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise on self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school dependence could partly be explained by the mediation effect of body self-esteem,and the effect of mediation is 0.261.Conclusions:(1)"Basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise can improve the body self-esteem and self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school,and with the growth of the duration of intervention,the benefit of intervention is increasing gradually.(2)"Basketball and fancy rope jumping" combined exercise had direct effect on self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school,and it can also improve the self-confidence of the senior grade students in primary school by improving their body self-esteem.
