Social work originated in Europe in late19th century and early20th century, became as a vocation from the initial philanthropy. It is worth us to reflect that the United States as the most developed country in social work is always grope for social work of Professionalism. But, at present the lag of the social work professionalism, two social workers coexist and the mode of Shenzhen social work, the Shenzhen social workers in the state are not conducive to the development of China’s social work career. Therefore, in view of Social workers in their own professional identity research almost blank, the research is very necessary whether in the social work career development, social worker team construction or social development.This research mainly rely on professional socialism theory, and basing on questionnaire, interview to study, the occupation identity mainly from the occupation cognition, occupation emotion, occupation behavior tendency of the three dimensions to study, and the factors that influence the social workers’occupational identity mainly from personal factors, institutional factors, governmental factors and so on.Through the above analysis, the main conclusions are as follows:First, social workers are mostly women, about two times of the male; social workers are not from Guangdong mostly.Second, social workers are mostly undergraduate and above degree of education, although most of them are trained, the social worker is still at the exploratory stage.Third, it services a wide range of areas, has a certain job distribution, has the different nature of the work and psychological experience engaged in different type.Fourth, social workers’occupation identity as a whole is still relatively high, especially the degree of occupational cognition and occupational emotion is relatively high, but the degree of occupational behavior tendency is relatively low.Fifth, the analysis of the personal factors, institutional factors, governmental and other factors show that social position, the level of professional service, the communication between institution and social service buyer, salary, promotion mechanism, government support are important factors to impact social workers’ occupation identity. On the other hand, social sources, professional background do not influence the social workers’occupation identity significantly.Finally, this thesis gives some corresponding suggestions on how to improve social workers’occupational identity, and the thesis expounds the deficiencies and prospects.
