To meet the needs of the times, the concept of quality education in the new round of curriculum reform of basic education is sure to promote everything for all students as the core. At the same time, the new curriculum reform is based on developing human potential to develop the awareness and exploration of the innovative capacity for students, and truly make good use of the initiative requirements in learning activities. Based on the research of trying pedagogy applied to senior ideological and political, this study aims to vary the teaching methods, to stimulate the students’ interest in learning, to make the students learn the senior ideological and political actively and deeply, and to improve the students’ ability in learning by themselves, cooperating and expressing.In this study, beginning with understanding the meaning and essence of trying pedagogy, as well as the characteristics of it, the author expounds the theoretical basis, necessity and feasibility of trying pedagogy which has been used in the teaching of senior ideological and political. The author tries to benefit from the previous teaching theories and some research literatures, combining the characteristics of senior ideological and political education and carefully pointing out the detailed teaching methods in applying trying strategies to the senior ideological and political teaching. The study also tries explaining the principles in the senior ideological and political teaching, such as the guiding role, correcting in time, preparing well, cooperating and complementing. Actual examples of teaching introduce the basic five-step processes in senior ideological and political courses, that is:to show titles-to study textbook by themselves-to exercise-to discuss among students-to explain by teachers. Through talking about with the students, the inquiry, the comparison and analysis of teaching practice, the study tries carrying out a profound reflection, pointing out the advantages, limitations and improvement of applying trying pedagogy to senior ideological and political courses.
