The current international competition is becoming increasingly fierce, mainly shown on the comprehensive national strength in economic and technology-based trial, while overall national contest is creating a competition of creating talent in the final analysis. To meet the needs of the times, the concept of quality education in the new round of curriculum reform of basic education is sure to promote eveything for all students as the core. Comprehensive improvement of the basic qualities and skills of students is the central task of the new curriculum reform. At the same time, the need must be met to develop the awareness and exploration of the innovative capacity of students and truly make good use of the initiative requirements in learning activities. The new curriculum reform is based on developing human potential, and increasing the interest of students. The attempt in teaching in the essay has changed the traditional teaching mode. Teachers do not state everything clearly at first and then let students do exercises but ask students to review the old and baisc knowledge,study textbooks by themslves and discuss with each other. They should attempt to solve the probloms they have found preliminarily through exercises, relying on their own efforts. At the last step,teachers will instruct students to practice the focus of the difficult points and teaching materials. Meanwhile,teachers will give instructions with targets,which is to combine organically the leading role of teachers and the main role of students. It can be said that trying pedagogy is one of the effective and important methods to implement the new curriculum reform of teaching concept.In this essay, beginning with understanding the meaning and essence of trying pedagogy, as well as the characteristics of it,the author expounds the application of ideological and political discipline in order to test the feasibility and necessity of trying pedagogy and check its theoretical basis. The author tries to benifit from the previous teaching theories and some research literatures, combining the characteristics of ideological and political education in middle schools and carefully pointing out a more detailed teaching methods in applying trying strategies to the ideological and political education. The essay also tries explaining the principles in the ideological and political teaching,such as the guiding role, correcting in time, preparing well, cooperating and complementing . Actual examples of teaching introduce the basic six-step processes in ideological and political courses, that is:to show titles---- to study textbook by themselve---- to exercise ---- to discuss among students ---- to explain by teachers---- to try again. Finally the author tries carrying out a profound reflection, pointing out the advantages and limitations of applying tying pedagogy to ideological and political courses.
