This research is aimed to discuss analysis and comparison of similarities and differences that about fraction that in Primary Mathematics textbooks of Official version in Taiwan and PEP. Fraction is a major part in the Primary Mathematics Curriculum, it is also important contents of primary school mathematics curriculum and teaching, mathematical thinking is not only a part of Primary Mathematics Curriculum, but it is also a beginning of arising difficult that during learning mathematics.For this reason, this research is performed by literature, comparative method, and content analysis, it is not only the comparison of idea and purpose of mathematics education that between Taiwan and mainland, but also the comparison of fraction. This article choose a famous textbooks that in cross-strait—textbooks that compiled respectively by Taiwan National Institute of Education and People’s Education Press of mainland.After research we found:About fraction, elementary school mathematics textbooks of cross-strait have following intercommunity:About learning contents of fraction, they are starting from initial understanding of fraction, and become difficulty step by step; Pay attention to relationship of fraction and actual living of students, include comprehensiveness of learning;Emphasis on problem-solving skills of students, can use fraction knowledge in daily life.Elementary school mathematics textbooks of cross-strait have following characteristics:According to different standards of curriculum, different standards of curriculum can impact compilation of textbooks; For the structure of curriculum, the type of Official version in Taiwan is progressive, compilation of PEP textbooks reflect the idea of progressive, the whole seems to belong to centralized compilation;On the side of scenario design, PEP textbook is more rich and colorful, it is involved with learning and living of students, humanities, natural sciences, history; Design of the examples and exercises, quantity, type, and achieved effects are showing different characteristics.In general, the difference of fraction that in those two kinds of primary school mathematics textbooks are caused by different history, polity and culture, Taiwan and mainland can take example from experiences and lessons from both sides, provide information for revise and perfection of textbooks.
