In light of the national demand for human resources and the goals and status quoof China’s secondary vocational education, creativity cultivation should be stressed inthis type of schools.Taking the Multiple Intelligences theory and the constructivistlearning approach, this research analyzes the status quo of our secondary vocationaleducation and the influencing factors, and hence put forward the proposition.Favorable creativity environment has not set in at secondary vocational schoolsand, for the lack of effective measures, students still lack the capacity and awarenessfor creativity. Through the questionnaire, the students on the school hope to nurtureinnovation capability However, the students do prefer creativity-related teachingapproaches and appraisal methods and they put forward some ways for improvement,like creative activities, heuristic class teaching, a platform to release students creativeinspiration and a campus with creative air. The main playing factors encumberingcreativity cultivation include misunderstandings in society and among the instructors,old-fashioned pedagogies and the lack of creativity awareness among the students.To advance the creativity capability of secondary vocational school students, it’sproposed that effort should be directed to the following areas:1. schools should turntheir attention to the cultivation of creativity;2, teachers should reform their teachingapproaches and set up a favorable environment for creative thinking;3, students’attention should be directed to creativity awareness and cultivation;4, the coursesystem should be reformed in accordance; and finally, a general social environmentfor the cultivation of creativity should be fostered.
