With the acceleration of globalization, population mobility and migration becomes a universal phenomenon.Fujian province is always major place of the population cross-border transfer. The reform and opening up, the emigration shows such features:for emigrant area, extending from south to north, from east to west and from coastal to outback; for immigration, turning to developed western countries from east-southeast. As a new phenomenon of population mobility in the contemporary countryside are, the mountainous population cross-border transfer after the reform and opening up in1979is attracting a lot of attention. But across most researches of domestic and international academia, it is a weakness of the local social and cultural changes caused by the population cross-border transfer in rural areas, still less cultural landscape transformation.Based on field survey materials and relevant theoretical knowledge of sociology, demography, anthropology, etc, taking the way combing macro examination and case study, the essay researches on the origin and development of population cross-border transfes, taking Shaxi Village as a typical case, and the social and cultural landscape transformation by them. The results show that, first, the prodution of the mountainous population cross-border transfer are the results of the comprehensive function both at home and abroad. In the process of its development, the migration has some regularity characteristics:ingoing ground with Italy to give priority to; migration for young people more and uneducated; more engaged in labor intensive. Strategy selection and immigration network operation play a pivotal role in the course of migration. Second, with the development of population cross-border transfer, the local rural has had many changes, especially cultural landscape. Not only the material culture landscape (land, settlement and buildings) changes, but also intangible culture landscape (religion and life-style) changes have double effects to social development of mountainous rural. We must take on the opportunities and challenges seriously.
