| Every major change in the information technology and its application in education science field willspur a new learning method. And certain technical support may lead up to more convenient and efficientlearning. Now, Pervasive Computing emerges with the development of Super Micro Computer and wirelesscommunications technology. And a new learning method--Ubiquitous Learning appears with theapplication of Pervasive Computing in education science. Ubiquitous Learning is a learner-centered methodwhich focuses on the task itself, and learners study instantly according to their demand, or a proper amount. In Ubiquitous Learning environment, students learn according to their needs in various learning spaces andin various learning ways, and with any terminal anywhere. In this sense, Ubiquitous Learning plays animportant role in promoting autonomous learning. At present, PC, smart phones and wireless networks arequite popular on campus, the hardware has met the requirement of Ubiquitous Learning initially, and thereare some preliminary Ubiquitous Learning behaviors. There are defects in Ubiquitous learning in the meantime. Therefore, teachers should provide necessary guidance to students learning in Ubiquitous Learningenvironment to enhance students’ independent learning. The thesis first gives a literature review to the concept, connotation, characteristics of UbiquitousLearning and independent learning of college students domestically and abroad. And a summary of thecharacteristics of college students learning in Ubiquitous Learning environment is made based on formerstudies. Then, questionnaire surveys about the situation of college students learning in Ubiquitous Learningenvironment are conducted from a three-dimensional angle. Investigation results are concluded and theexisting problems are analyzed. Promotion strategies are designed for learning goals, learning resource, learning activity, learning evaluation and learning assistance from teachers’ viewpoint. Finally, a case studyin Spoken English lessons is conducted with the strategies proposed in the thesis. A student satisfactionsurvey is carried through at the end of the case to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposedstrategies. The results show that the proposed strategies are helpful to students learning, they can improvestudents learning effect. And students are quite satisfied with the learning process and effect, and interested in learning motives. They learn to study at odd moments at anytime and anywhere and their learninginitiative is improved apparently. Based on this, it is believed that the proposed strategies are feasible andeffective, can indeed play a significant role in promoting college students’ independent learning. |
