At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the Chinese government proposed building an innovative country, the key is to cultivate innovative talents. In the middle school system of art education, design education plays an important role in student’s creativity. Along with a huge voice to cultivating innovative talents, the design education of fine art coures got more and more concern day by day.This paper mainly includes the following four parts:The first part, sorted out and summaried the literature of design education in art courses of the milldle school to find its focus of development; The second part, researched the present situation of art design course in middle school at developed and underdeveloped areas of our country to identify its existing problems and try to make corresponding recommendations; The third part, accroding to comprehensive analysis of the teaching content of the "Design·Application" learning area, with selecting of instructional design examples and establishing teaching evaluation rules, to explore effective ways for teacher’s training; The last part, prospecting and assumption for the "Design·Application" learning area.In this paper, the main research methods including theoretical studies, comparative studies, case studies and questionnaires. From both theoretical and practical point of view, to promote teaching and research on the fine art education course of middle school in the "Design·Application" learning area.
