The Western Higher Education Modernization Transformation Research

The National Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010—2020) clearly indicate that,before2020,we will basically realize the modernization of Education, becoming a country rich in human resources. We urgently need the various levels of education of the various regions to realize the leaping development and explore the educational modernization path. Compare to the eastern and the middle regions, the level of economic development of most western provinces is still underdeveloped. Western economic and social development is relatively backward, the ability to support higher education in the region have yet to be upgraded. Western higher education modernization model to promote the sound development of local economy and society has not yet formed. The benign circulation mode of education promoting the local economic development has not yet formed. Therefore, it is necessary to study the transformation of the western Higher education Modernization, in order to guide the healthy development of the western higher education modernization, thus to promote the development of the western region social modernization.The thesis made the colleges of the western12provinces as the study object. Using empirical analysis and normative analysis methods, the thesis made objective analysis on the background, status, barriers, influence factor, path choice of the western higher education modernization. The characteristic of transformation of Higher education is summarized in terms of power, basis, pattern and trend. The thesis analyzed the present situation and the existing problems. Through the development of higher education modernization index system, based on a wide range of data collection and using cluster and factor analysis method, the west is divided into4areas. According to the factor analysis results, the thesis summed up the factors affecting the transformation and found a breakthrough to solve the problem. From the educational ideas, educational system, educational input, teaching staff construction and other aspects, the thesis put forward the basic strategy of the western modern transformation of higher education. At last, proposed four levels of the western region of the modernization of higher education in transformation path.
