High vocational college students are both the backbone in industrial economyand the important human resources in social development of China. Under currentdifficult employment situation which vocational college students are facing withimprovement of comprehensive competitive quality for vocational college students isthe key of enhancing high vocational education attraction and optimizing talentresource structure. At present, the majority of vocational college students tend to havesubjectivity and blindness due to lack of rational self-orientation and accuratecognition in selecting major and career, resulting in the emergence of lowemployment satisfaction and high turnover rate. A reasonable career planning canhelp vocational college students to seek the best way for their own development, getto know themselves as soon as possible, understand major and career, and establishcareer objective and ideal. Meanwhile, the implementation of career planningeducation can effectively promote the sustainable development of high vocationalcolleges and maintain the stability of our society.This paper developed its research about career planning from three aspects,involving basic theory, status analysis as well as countermeasures and suggestions.The study results included (ⅰ) illustration of research background and significance,research status and methodology, research ideas and frame as well as relevant careerplanning theories and model adopted in this research, with the importance andnecessity of vocational college students career planning being put forward,(ⅱ)relevant data analysis using SPSS statistic software based on the status investigationof four high vocational colleges in Qinhuangdao city, objective evaluation of thecareer planning status from four levels of career cognition, career decision, careeractivity and feedback adjustment as well as the clarification of the differences ingender, grade, major, student-cadre position, family location, parents’ culturalbackground, family economic status among students questioned,(ⅲ) definition of the career planning problems existed in Qinhuangdao vocational colleges studentsaccording to the survey and interview results, with further analysis of career planningcognition, career planning orientation, career planning support and career planningenvironment was performed, and (ⅳ) presentation of the correspondingcountermeasures and suggestions used for further guiding and perfecting vocationalcollege students career planning from four perspectives of society, school, family andstudent.
