In today’s changing society, children are regarded as a special group, which is widely concerned about. In spite of this, issues on children development have still emerged endlessly, which needs paying more attention to the education of children’s physical and mental health development. The study of classic general textbooks on human development, brings a higher horizon to reconsider the problems of children’s growth. It has the great instructive significance to solve the children’s problem and ensure the healthy qrowth of children.A Child’s World Infancy Through Adolescence (hereinafter referred to as "A Child’s World") is a classic and successful general textbooks in human development of American universities. It is about three aspects of children development (i.e. physical development, cognitive development and psychosocial development,) in four age levels (i.e. infancy and toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence) from birth to18years old, and it also describes the growing process and factors from concept to birth. Compared with textbooks of developmental psychology in China, one of the differences is that the theoretical basis of A Child’s World is not only psychology, but also to integrate the research achivement of multiple disciplines. Therefore, it is a general textbook about human development.The thesis takes the textbook and online resources of A Child’s World as the research object, and uses case analysis and comparison analysis. It consists of four chapters. The first chapter expounds A Child’s World as the overall framework and textbook construction of general teaching materials on the basis of the holistic view of the textbooks in human development; the second chapter is about studying the revision process of A Child’s World, including three authors’ life, academic research and the influence on human development, and the basic facts of the textbook; the third chapter analyzes the whole textbook of A Child’s World in detail, including the structure, contents and compile skills; the fourth chapter states the "human development" curriculum has a great significance on teacher education in our country, especially emphasize that textbook introduction should be localization.Through the careful study of the textbook, we learn and obtain the basic idea of children development, summarize the specific, unique compile methods and skills, strive to excavate new textbook resources, and gain more elaborate curriculum materials, in order to make up for the deficiency of general textbooks of children development in pedagogy in our country. With regard to form the curriculum construction in human development, the thesis is only a simple try.
